Beach Body (June 2021)

By June of 2021, Beach Body had reached a point of intense participation. More than 148 people volunteered to be photographed that month alone, responding to the project’s simple premise and its refusal of restrictive beauty standards.

This period marked the apex of the series’ early momentum. What began as an individual photographic gesture quickly became communal, as participants recognized themselves in the work and in one another. The volume of bodies was not incidental; it was central to the project’s meaning. Seen together, these images assert that visibility is not earned through exception, but created through collective presence.
